Mr. T one year young! {Gilbert Children Photographer}

Mr. T is one year young! Mom was referred from a friend of mine who runs one of the best bootcamps in the East Valley who I photographed last year. Mr. T just turned one and mom was redoing his play room and wanted to get some fun shots of him with some vintage toys she had found. I know for a fact my friend will be quite jelly when she sees the antique desk!!

Isn't he so cute in his hat!

Few of the antique toys..........

Even an antique phone! He should run for president. Isn't there always a picture of the president with the phone upside down???

Such a handsome boy! Beautiful eyes! And I am a sucker for butt-chins! Is there another word for that?? Maybe I am not calling it by the right name?? Dimple chin maybe??

Thank you L & T! I had a fun with your little man and I hope you get that pool table out so you can start on his playroom!!

Bookworm

My husband takes my daughter to the library a few times a week when my son naps so I have at least a good 2 to 3 hours to myself. My daughter always comes home and shows me all the books she gets and movies. This morning when he was at the gym I was picking up our room and saw this on the floor by our bed. Dude, how many books can you read at a time?! ? He is always reading but I never really paid attention to how much! Granted most are baseball or fiction books. Don't let the tattoos fool you, he is a bonafide N-E-R-D! And I heart him. Big muscles, big brain, but especially his big heart =)

Jasmine Star workshop: Part Deux

So for the shoot part of the workshop Jasmine showed us how she works with clients and gets those incredible shots. I was kinda nervous for the shoot because I am just weird like that. I don't know what my problem is sometimes. The night before we got together and did headshots of each other on the beach and I didn't really shoot. I notice I do this here too at photographer GTG......... I clam up......... I need to stop it! But I finally got in there and started shooting and got some decent stuff. I was lucky and got a few direct looks into the camera shots too! And it was HOT! Don't let California fool you. Poor guy was in a jacket! But he rocked it! He had the sweetest style. And he and his wife......(yes people they are a real life couple!).......were the cutest couple ever!

Location: The Club at Woodbury- so pretty, want to live there
Models: Melinda and Vern- stunning, stylish, artsy, madly in love
Floral: Carissa of JL Events & Design- perfection
Beauty/Hair: Vivian Tran-All Made Up Team- amazing, sweet, artist
Dress: Monique Lhuillier-haute
I could have photographed Melinda all day. She is absolutely breathtaking! Her eyes were doe-like it made her innocently captivating...........
Now let me tell you a little something about a woman named Vivian. She is a master! She can DO hair! When I do hair I throw in a Bump-it and call it a day. Hahaha. This lady sculpts masterpieces out of keratin. Seriously look at that hair! Mad-skillz that Viv!
I love this dress. It fits her body like skin. Delish. And love the uniqueness of the bouquet.

Jasmine's Mom and JD of course were there helping with the food, technical things, and just making sure Jasmine and us were taken care of. Mom must be so proud. She has an awesome daughter. And JD is the sweetest guy ever. Always taking care of his lady. You could just tell he was happy helping her. It was funny because at dinner someone asked him what his and Jasmine's work day is like. He replies scheduled. I joked and said he was a Babywise Husband. He looked at me with the cutest innocent blank face and me and another photographer who is with child just busted up laughing. Don't we all wish we had Babywise Husbands?? Geesh Jasmine's got it all =).
I had the best time at her workshop. Now I just want to just keep going to workshops. I think I am going to be a workshop groupie. Thanks you Jasmine, JD, and Momma Star for everything!

Jasmine Star Workshop: Part One

I'm back!! Betcha didn't even know I was gone huh? Cause I am sneaky like that and set up auto-posts! I am so 2000-and-late and still am the only working photographer without a laptop! I had to check my emails daily from the Laguna Beach public library. I guess whatever gets you to the beach right?? But it was actually nice to be kinda unplugged.

I have been setting little goals. And since I am very limited on money and time, I told myself if I book so many family sessions or another wedding, I can get more gear or go to a workshop. When Jasmine's first workshop happened, I didn't even know who she was yet. Then I signed up for her newsletter and got the notice for her 2nd workshop before it went public. I contemplated going then but ....yeah that sold out in a millisecond. So I told myself I am going to go to her next workshop, and since I get her newletter I will be one of the first to be notified. Well the day it was announced I wasn't notified......Burn! She had technical problems and no one was notified and it went public instead. So the minute I saw it on her blog I jumped at the chance! I either am really lucky I got in or it just solidifies that I have no life except to sit at my computer waaaay too much. I felt like I won the lottery!

I had an amazing time in Orange County learning alongside with so many other photographers. The only thing I do regret is not staying with everyone at the hotel. My family came along with me and we have a place to stay there. So I didn't get that extra time with everyone on a more intimate level. There were so many cool people! I get a little anxious and either don't talk or talk too much. And I think I may have talked too much at the dinners! Then the day of the workshop we go around and introduce ourselves and tell our story. Everyone has these great little monologues and all I say is..... Hi I am Tina....ummm..... Jasmine literally had to finish my sentence and say ........and she is from Arizona and has stagefright..... Feeling like and Arse Part 3!

Having the opportunity to meet Jasmine in person was priceless. She is everything she represents on her blog and more. All around beautiful, hilarious, grounded, smart........but most importantly REAL. The workshop focused on Branding and what defines you. That is a hard question! Because truly at the end of the day we are no better photographers than the next person. So what makes you special?? What makes you stand out?? I guess you can ask yourself this question even if you aren't a photographer. I am still trying to find the answer and not quite sure what I am looking for either! Most of you who read her blog knows she makes up her own words. She actually has her own catchphrases that are HILAR! My favorite is still Don't fake the Funk people! All I can say to that is WORD sista.

The starlet in action.....

Showing us how it is done ANTM style........Tyra would be proud.......that expression......Now that is ferosh......

Jasmine's gun show............

I love this one. She looks so adorable with her freckles! Here she is with the talented photographer/entrepauner Bernie Aho from Canada, whom I unfortunately didn't get that much time to talk to but love his work......

Now some sneaky peeks of the shoot coming up tomorrow with all the yummy details..........

I wear my sunglasses at night......

Here are some more shots I took a few weekends ago while on a road trip with the hubs. It wasn't a romantic getaway to a tropical island or anything, but probably a trip I will always remember. We drove through Seattle to Phoenix to transport a vehicle for someone. I was on the trucker diet. Not a fan of the trucker diet. The coffee was good but I ate enough convience store food. One can only have so much trailmix, jerky, and cracker jack! We ate at random restaurants and unfortunately I didn't get to experience any Waffle houses which I was hoping to do. I love greasy breakfast, especially in a random city!

My husband is the best at finding his way. People never believe him when he tells them he doesn't use a GPS. He is old skool and reads a map. And I am always confident (well, almost always) that he will get us to where we need to go. He thinks some technology instead of advancing people, are making people lazier and dumber. He has driven to so many places by using a map, he now remembers how to get to there by heart and memory. If he relied on a GPS he would just listen and never really pay attention to where he was going. It's kind of like your cell phone. Do you know any of your friends' phone numbers by heart??? I am so guilty of this............I think I am getting dumber.......

We drove a little over 1500 miles.......stayed in small hotels off the highway..... and talked for hours and hours about so many wonderful things. We got up at like 4am every morning to catch the worm! We didn't get to see much, which was fine with me, just what we saw while passing through. I took this picture somewhere in Oregan I think. It is rare to see mountains like that with snow on it and trees like that in Phoenix unless you go up north, which I rarely do. So I took a picture. I took it through the windshield, hence the dirty spots and the bug splats! I didn't want to remove them when I edited it cause I wanted to remember I was in the car when I took it! The drive was Amazing!! So beautiful. And NOT a hundred degrees outside. And it was so weird I had my sunglasses on until like 8pm. It didn't get dark until like 9:30!!

My Husband is a huge basefall fan. One of these days he wants to travel the country and go to a game at each of the major fields. So when we were in Seattle and Portland he made me snap pictures of Safeco and Qwest fields. They aren't great cause I was in the car but he was happy! One of these days he will be able to take his trip and get better pictures!

The view driving into downtown Seattle, reminded me of San Fransico cause of the hills................

Reading his directions and map! He thinks he looks mad in this picture! I think he was just concentrating. But seriously look at his arm?? Looks funny, like Popeye!

It was such a fun trip and we decided we are going to start saving for a motorhome once we have some money!! Ha! Boy do I sound old! We loved driving together and thought how much fun it would be to take the kids..........or better yet our grandchildren one day!

Roller Derby!

So yesterday the family got together and celebrated my niece's 7th birthday at the local roller skating rink. It was so much fun and a workout! I could totally feel myself tightening my whole body just so I wouldn't fall. It reminded me of cheer practice and when I would be high up in the sky standing like a flamingo perched on someone's scrawny teenage arms. They would scream up at me from the ground to squeeze every muscle in my body, pretend you have a quarter between your cheeks and you can't drop it! Really people?? How about I just let it rain money?? HeHe!

Anyway my skating ability came back quickly and I was rollin' around that rink pretty smooth to the beats of Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas. Then this guy shows up. You can call him Mr. Michelle Kwan but on roller skates instead of ice skates. He was crazy awesome! Maybe a little over the top for a Sunday afternoon full of kids but nonetheless, pretty cool to watch!! It was hard for me to take pictures because the lighting in there wasn't the best but here are some of him. He was doin' those crazy ice skating spins.............

He did some fancy dancing footwork. I think he did some double axles too! Jumpin' and spinning in the air! Then he does this thing and looks like a pretzel and gets himself fully parallel with the ground as he takes the rink's turn..........

Then my daughter turns in her game tickets for a prize and chooses this rubber stretchy hand. While she is playing with it and whips it around it goes really long and gets caught in the wheels of a young teen skating by......Oye! Poor kid! He didn't get hurt but I think he was more embarassed cause he fell and I didn't make it any better and kept asking him if he was okay. I think he just wanted to get the heck out of the eating area where everyone was looking at him. But then he couldn't get the rubber thing out of his wheels and so my husband had to help him. My daughter felt really bad and this is what my daughter does when she think she is in trouble or hurts someone.........

But it ended up a great and entertaining family Sunday afternoon!

Miss C {Scottsdale Boudoir photographer}

Disclaimer: Please close browser if you are uncomfortable with partial nudity. Model has given permission to publish for marketing purposes. If you choose to schedule a boudoir you may or may not opt to allow me to publish. However most likely you will FEEL like the DAbomb.com and will want to show the world! Beauty is inside and will shine through on the outside everytime!

This was my first attempt at Boudoir and I absolutely LOVE it! This is right up my alley with me being able to do all aspects of the shoot, from hair, makeup, and photography. My days in front of the camera also helped tremedously with posing and making her feel comfortable as well as sexy. She was so funny because even though she is absolutely STUNNING, she was Miss Stiffy!! I had to help her relax a little and tell her what to do with her hands, eyes, and face. She laughed and said she could never be a model because it would take them forever to get the shot! I think she did phenomonal! I am so happy with these images! Boudoir can be anything you want it to be. Flirty or sensual. Classic or themed. It is whatever makes you feel fabulous! Leave everything up to me, literally! Boudoir sessions make a great gift for your guys. Heck, who says you need a guy? Do a session for you!! There are so many AH-mazing shots so make sure you check out the slideshow!

Serendipity Videography Girls {Gilbert Hair/makeup artist}

T, it's T. Can you make me fabulous?

Over the years I have become Taryn's, owner of Serendipity Videography, personal stylist! The first time I did her hair and makeup for an event was about 3 years ago for a wedding. She was a bridesmaid and I did all of the bridesmaids hair and makeup. I think Taryn used pictures from that wedding on everything that year! I looked HOT! And if any of you know Taryn, you can totally hear her right now........right? She cracks me up! So anytime now when she gets her picture taken she rings me up! And I love it. Taryn is a beauty with or without me and I am just happy that I make her feel as good as she looks.

This time Sergio photographer from Tucson was shooting their whole Serendipity Team with their camera equipment. And I can't wait to see the photos! I got to style her sister this time too. Both are stunning, but negatives of each other! Taryn is super blonde and snowy pale skin, and her sister is dark with olive tan skin! Here are some quick photos I took before they left.......
