Mr. T is one year young! Mom was referred from a friend of mine who runs one of the best bootcamps in the East Valley who I photographed last year. Mr. T just turned one and mom was redoing his play room and wanted to get some fun shots of him with some vintage toys she had found. I know for a fact my friend will be quite jelly when she sees the antique desk!!
Isn't he so cute in his hat!
Few of the antique toys..........
Even an antique phone! He should run for president. Isn't there always a picture of the president with the phone upside down???
Such a handsome boy! Beautiful eyes! And I am a sucker for butt-chins! Is there another word for that?? Maybe I am not calling it by the right name?? Dimple chin maybe??
Thank you L & T! I had a fun with your little man and I hope you get that pool table out so you can start on his playroom!!Click here for slideshow

I have mixed emotions today. I am so excited to be doing this and be able to help. But then it brings me to tears to as to why. A little girl has brain cancer. Lately, when my husband and I read Kate's progress then look over at our daughter , we can't help but just tear up. Kate is her age. So full of life. And her family, her mother, everyday have the same mixed emotions. Questions, despair followed by motivation, and hope. From all of us. All so very exhausting I am sure. This family has such a long road to recovery with ups and down along the way. If I can help ease some of the day to day things like what is for dinner through the gift cards so they can focus on their family is simple but means so much. So here we go! Here are the details for the auction. The winning bid will be announced Tuesday July 21st! Please check comments for recent bids before bidding! For more auction items please visit here.
I am learning new things at every shoot. First how to deal with silly boys. Then this past weekend the poopy baby. And this session a child over 5! Most of the kids I photograph are under the age of 5. So I kinda am just running around them and just watching them. The older they get the more they know my presence and it is a little harder for me to get the natural style I usually try to present in my work.
Miss. A definately knew I was there and was always ready with a smile and pose! Her and her mom drove 2 hours to see me! Her mom wanted dance recital pictures done of her daughter. Miss A was the sweetest thang with the cutest dimples. Sassy and full of spunk. She kept bustin' out moves all over the place at her session. After their session she invited me to dinner with her and her mom before their drive home. So sweet! The best part was when she was teaching her mom dance moves in the parking lot! ...........and one.....and two......three....four......Jazz hands!
Hope you ladies had fun on your short stay! So great to meet you gals!
I love this shot. I think it would look cool on a canvas in a dance studio or girl's room........

Work it gurl!
I love it! Whenever I photograph families I get to witness so many different families and personalities. Many times parents' say......... My children are usually so good...... Or when the children won't come take a family picture....They really do love me! My parents always feel like they have to apologize for their children. And I don't even notice that the kids are doing anything! I think sometimes parents expect their children to pose and smile and do what Mrs. Tina says. Truly moms and dads, I don't care! I want them to do what they do, not what I want them to do. That's the fun part. No apologies needed! This next family I had the opportunity to work with already. Mom and Dad were in the bridal party of one of my weddings. I got to meet their 2 boys this time. And did I love it! I grew up in a family of 4 sisters, so I am always intrigued by boys and the brotherly bond. Boys are just cool. Laidback. Outgoing. Funny. Whatever goes mentality. Sometimes I think I would like being a boy. Except the part with dealing with girls! Girls are just more complex. Trust. I am one. But I am one that also thinks a lot like a boy sometimes. So I am intrigued by the male mind! What really baffles me is how much milk boys drink! My husband can drink a gallon in one day! When we were dating he always told me I'd be in for a rude awakening if we had boys, cause when I was growing up a gallon would last a week at our house. Girls just don't drink milk. At least I don't. Maybe God knew I wouldn't be able to grasp the milk concept and therefore made my children allergic to it instead :).
But these boys were so cute together. I loved watching them interact and just be. All Little wanted to do was wrestle in the grass with brother. Sit next to brother. Be with brother. Big was just goofy! And silly! I had to pull teeth to get some real smiles out of him, but when I did they were contagious! Mom and Dad were equally silly.......... D, c'mom, act like you loooooove me! .....mom would say wrapping her legs around Dad. He turns and looks at me, then looks at her and says ......Why are you so weird?!? HaHa! I love it! Moms are always so enthusiatic about the shoots and Dads always say the kids are done when they are the ones who really are! If this sounds like you and your family, you are normal, not weird. Though I have had some Dads just as excited about the shoot as mom. You guys are special! So normal or special, but NEVER weird !! Look at this lil' monchichi face! Remember those?? Ugh... just want to eat him up!
After I got the pliers and starting pulling teeth :) Love his real smile!
Love at it's weirdest......ahem.....I mean finest :)
I loved all their family shots. The boys were so fun and these totally show the family's relationship which was FUN!
Thanks guys! I had so much fun hangin' with ya! Sorry I bribed you with ice cream and then didn't deliver :( I made up for it though just wait.....wink....wink...click here for their slideshow
This is what I love about photographing kids...............girls are sassy and love to pose for the camera...........
Boys on the other hand, do not................cracks me up

The C family is the sister in law of the M family. All of my families are so special to me and I love shooting all of them for various reasons. This one though I must say touched me in so many different ways. I feel a little choked up even now as I write this. Everything about this family was so special. Mom's enthusiam for the shoot, their family dynamics, their testimony, their strength, their love. Mom had a stillborn at 30 weeks. Was then blessed with 2 beautiful children. Concieved again and had a beautiful baby boy, Hayden. Unfortunately who passed away last summer. I included some photos of him that mom and dad took so he could also be in the slideshow. I am amazed everyday with people's strength and courage. Families like this represent what it means to love and just have faith. The love and happiness I witnessed with this family was beautiful. Sister for brother, daughter for dad, dad for mom, mom for son.......... brother for binky! I love their slideshow. It truly touched me. Thank you C family for sharing your story with me and letting me document your beautiful family. Your family is so blessed and I for getting to meet and spend time with you! There were so many favorites from this session!
Dad is gonna have a hard time with this one in a few years. Beauty....
And brains............

Dad and son were trying to see if the bar was open for some daddy juice :). I actually worked at that bar back in the day when I was in hair school. It's changed now, but when I worked there it was a 70s/80s club. It was a really fun job because I went to work in bell bottoms, roller skates, big wigs, Neon, units belts and jelly shoes! It was totally awesome, like radical! I danced all night in a raised up Volkswagon beetle! So don't be surprised if I bust out in the hustle or something to ABBA or Brickhouse at your wedding!! Haha.
I hope my daughter and son stay close like these two...........
One of my faves of the whole gang!

Thanks again A & R! You have beautiful children!
Seriously?!? My families are making me look good! I had two fabulous shoots last weekend with the most beautiful children. Am I lucky or what? I had a lil' cherub, a future model, and Mr. Rico Suave himself!! Here are a few images to hold my moms over.....Enjoy!

I don't remember what is like to bring a new little baby into the world..........into the world of a toddler. This session as well as last, refreshed my memory! A! Don't jump like that. You almost smushed your brother. Oh no A! You have to be very gentle.......I 100% remember now. Trust me mommies and daddies, it gets better. I remember my daughter used to put a blanket on my son and pat his back so he could sleep because that's what they did at her daycare to her. Except she would literally cover him like a corpse and smack his back all the while telling me he was going "night night". And here I am trying not to freak out and calmly telling her you must never cover baby's face yanking off the blanket! But they learn. They learn to be gentler and tolerable of the younger. Or they just learn to do things when you aren't looking! Between my daughter and my great dane (who was amazingly careful with the kids) I am surprised my son made it through his first year without a scratch! But I have a feeling these two will be be the best of friends once his presence sinks in. It was so sweet because every once and awhile Mrs. A would sneak her brother a kiss. If you asked her of course she didn't want to. She's a modern gal, very independant. But who would blame her. Would you kiss your brother if a weird asian lady asked you to?? And Brother was such a big lil' guy at 5 weeks! With a head full of beautiful dark hair! So jealy! He was so content and didn't make one peep the whole session. We started out at their home and I shot this one real quick before heading to the park. I love it for some reason, don't know why............
Momma's lil' monkey..........

This picture had me giggling out loud when I got home and going through the images. Since Miss A was such a firecracker, it was my mission to just get her to look at the camera. So I didn't even pay attention to what she was doing to poor brother! But I love this image for the same reason!

Love this next series..........Catching Miss A giving love :)

Okay honey, that might be a wee bit much!

Thank you so much D & M! Hope you like them!

I LOVE this family! I heart her, her mom, her sister, everyone! A few weeks ago her mom was in getting her hair done. She was asking me some questions about her camera and her ISO settings. I like to try, I emphasize try, to explain things because it helps me understand it all more too. Well, I either do not understand and have no idea what I am doing, I am a horrible teacher, or confused the heck out of her! Maybe a combo?? After 15 minutes of me talking and equating it to honey bees, the next thing she says is you know what, I am just going to hire you to take some pictures of my grandkids! I want to surprise my daughter! So she let me tell her daughter. So I facebooked her and said Surprise! You are entitled to a portrait session courtesy of your mom!. She was so excited and emailed me back .....Is this a joke? The session mostly focused on the kids, but mom and dad are too gorgeous to ignore! Baby A is at the age where she just wants to crawl around and Mr. L is at the age where decisions are just too hard to make! I want a cupcake. Nevermind, I don't want a cupcake. I think I want to explore. Nah, I think I want to go home. We met at one of their favorite places and just hung out. We got some fun shots. Thanks you guys! And don't forget to thank your mom!For their slideshow click here
This shot was taken at the end of the session because we didn't get many of mom and son together. It's kinda noisy and out of focus but I still love it. I think it's funny. Probably cause I told him to do it.
Beeeeauyooootiful family!
And I cannot lie. All You mommies all can't deny............
So I bet mom is so excited to be reading this right now! Am I right mom?? You are smiling ear to ear and the anticipation is killing you, I know it :) The day of the session I could tell all that was running through her head was "I hope these come out good". Luckily I have a fantastic step father-in-law who was able to fix my computer on a days notice so I could edit! My hard drive was completely full and running very slow. A couple of sticks of memory and another external hard drive and I was good as new. I am no computer guru and admire anyone who is! To me that is the most frustrating part! I was ready to just go out and buy me a new computer! Luckily he saved me A LOT of money and got me up and running so I could get my clients pictures out. So now my computer is faster and I edit now in a blink :). This family is just so cute! Mr. C is a peanut. Mom is a friend of one of my brides and she inquired about my services. So we went for it and this is what we got. Hope you like them cause I love them :)
I LOVE this little peanut face!

This one is one of my favorites. I love the body language. How mom is caressing his hair. Dad is guiding him. And he has his BFF tucked under his arm.........

Sneaking in a little love :)
Thank you Birch Family! It was so fun to hang out with you and your little man! TO VIEW THEIR SLIDESHOWCLICK HERE
