Dynomite and the baby coug

Lately people have been thinking I am like 25. My bride from the other weekend, some of the photogs at a GTG. Though I love it, I don't feel it. I think it is because my hair is getting longer and it makes me look younger. I normally wear my hair really short.

So this weekend I had the opportunity to RELAX and realize how old I am really getting!! It was my friend's bachlorette party. I am in a wedding for my dear friend Tina who is getting married in San Diego next month. She is Tina #2 and I am #1 of course. She says it is because I am older, but we all know it's not :). I love LOVE her. Not only are our names the same but we are alike in so many other ways too. She definately "gets" me. I am so happy for her and her fiance. I was there the night that she met him and I am so honored to be there when they wed! She and I will always be, T-n-T= Dynomite!

We started the day at the Camelback Spa. I have had 4 massages in my life and they were all at this spa. I love their pool and the mountains surrounding it. But I seem to always go with a big group of yappy girls and the pool is just too quiet. And after a few of those peach mimosas the decibels start to go up! But I realized I am getting old. The first time I went to the Camelback 5 years ago, I was 7 months pregnant probably 185 pounds (I was 195 when I delivered), and wearing my bikini and struttin' it like nobody's business. I really shouldn't have been wearing a bikini. At 5 ft 2, almost 200 pounds. REALLY shouldn't have worn a bikini! Here is a picture the day I delivered. I looked like I was a character on Disney's Lilo and Stitch. Nowhere is it written that your nose gets swollen when you are pregnant. My nose swelled, along with my body.

Anyway, I am A LOT smaller now than I have been in a long time, yet I still wore my 50's style "swimdress" to make sure I was covered up. It sounds hideous but its actually really cute. As I get older I'd rather be comfortable at the pool and not have to suck my belly in! When I was younger I would want to be as tan as possible even though I was born tan. I wanted to be black. Now, I try to perserve my skin as much as possible so I don't get wrinkles! I didn't have one cocktail at the pool, but instead I order 2 lunch items. I thought it said crab cakes, not cake. The thing was tiny and cost like $10. So I had to get a salad too. And I remember when in the past I was going out on the town I would shop like a week in advance so I could have the perfect outfit. I was lucky the clothes that I brought fit me and were even instyle! Times have changed. Now I spend money on food and not clothes, versus not eating and shopping! Then at night we went to have appetizers and cocktails at a restaurant and then on to a lounge/club. Luckily we were not in Scottsdale or else I would have really felt like a baby coug.

What happened to me?? Don't get me wrong, I had a blast celebrating with my friends, drinking, dancing, laughing, and keeping the creepy lurkers away from her. Its just nowadays I am happiest hanging out with a coffee, the hubs and the kids at a park or soccer game. The older I get the boringer I get.............did I just make up a word?? or spell one wrong??. Yet the happier and more content I feel with life. This weekend I realized I am getting older and I LIKE it.

It's kind of nice not to worry about all that other stuff anymore huh? I'd rather my kids look cute by the pool then me, anyway. We're just moms now and have a whole new priority.
